From simple exfoliation to acne scar reduction, the DermaSweep MD System offers a customized treatment for fresher-feeling and healthier-looking skin.

1. What is microdermabrasion?

Microdermabrasion is a skin-revitalizing treatment that helps repair skin that is damaged from the sun, scars, acne and the unwanted effects of aging. A trained professional uses gentle abrasion with suction to remove (or peel) the dead, outer layer of skin in order to stimulate and reveal new healthy skin underneath. DermaSweep offers the latest innovations in particle-free microdermabrasion and revolutionary patent-pending treatment bristle tips for tailored and optimal results.

2. What is skin resurfacing or skin rejuvenation?

Skin resurfacing and skin rejuvenation are terms commonly used to

describe microdermabrasion. There are different methods of skin

resurfacing ranging from sand blasting to chemical peels.

DermaSweep eliminates the discomfort of sand blasting and utilizes

particle-free technology.

3. How does DermaSweep work?

DermaSweep features a closed system with a variable level vacuum

pump that gently lifts the skin surface as the device "sweeps away"

the dead layer of skin in a precise and controlled manner.

The skin is left smoother as the vacuum action of the wand stimulates blood flow and cleans the pores.

The increased blood flow encourages collagen formation thus firming and toning the epidermis.

Using the Epi-Infusion option, skin specific solutions can be directly applied to the skin leaving patients with fresher-feeling and better-looking skin. DermaSweep's patent-pending treatment tips are available in up to 9 combinations for comfort and precise results. Selecting the appropriate tip, infusion solution and adjustable vacuum pressure delivers safe, controlled and optimal results.

5. Is DermaSweep safe?

Absolutely. Every DermaSweep professional is trained and certified. Carefully following our treatment protocol, DermaSweep treatments are one of the safest, lowest-risk, age defying procedures available.

6. Why is DermaSweep better than other exfoliation and microdermabrasion treatments?

Our revolutionary microdermabrasion system eliminates the messy and painful crystals often used by alternative systems to remove dead skin. Dermasweep features a closed system with a variable level vacuum pump that gently lifts the skin as our bristles "sweep away" the dead layer of skin in a precise and controlled manner.

Bristles really matter! DermaSweep enables airflow through the bristles to allow the skin to be gently drawn into the bristle for a more effective and less irritating exfoliation. Our polyester or nylon bristle tips fully eliminate the mess and hazards associated with traditional crystal systems. Even more, our patent-pending bristles prevent the build up of keratin on the wand that has been a problem with other particle-free systems.

This unique, efficient use of vacuum pressure and bristles are then customized for each treatment depending on skin type, desired level of exfoliation and results.

DermaSweep results gives a clean, consistently effective treatment that patients enjoy. Patients see a noticeable skin improvement with fewer treatments and improved results even with the first treatment.

7. What is DermaSweep’s Epi-Infusion?

DermaSweep Epi-Infusion treatments combine exfoliation with the delivery of skin specific topical solutions, leaving patients with fresher feeling and better looking skin. DermaSweep’s topical solutions are formulated to treat specific dermatological conditions. The solution is applied under vacuum pressure at the same time the system exfoliates the epidermis. Physicians render an effective treatment tailored to each patient's unique skincare needs.

The following is a list of some of the topical solutions and skin conditions that can be addressed with the

Epi-Infusion wand:

  • Rehydration - An infusion of a Hyaluronic Acid, Aloe Vera and Chamomile serum to add moisture to dry skin.

  • Renew - An infusion of a Vitamin C Serum to rejuvenate aging skin.

  • Acne - An infusion of a Salicylic Acid and Witch Hazel serum for the treatment of acne and clogged pores..

  • Hyperpigmentation - This skin brightening infusion of a Kojic Acid, Lactic Acid, Azelaic Acid, Bearberry and Licorice Root serum that works to lighten hyperpigmentation (sun/age spots).

  • Exfoliation - An infusion of Glycolic Acid and Salicylic Acid serum producing a mild peel effect. A bonus

8. Is the treatment painful or come with side effects?

The treatment is painless. The hazards associated with traditional microdermabrasion are eliminated.

DermaSweep does not use aluminum oxide crystals that can remain embedded in the skin and cause irritation. Our revolutionary, patent-pending bristle tip technology causes less irritation to the skin while at the same time allowing a more comfortable, aggressive and rejuvenating treatment. You may feel mild tightening or tingling after exfoliation but the skin will be quite smooth. The moisture of any topical treatment will leave your skin with a cool, refreshed feeling. An anti-oxidant enriched sunscreen is essential to use afterwards since the exfoliated skin has temporarily lost some of its natural protection to the environment. It is recommended to avoid sun exposure and tanning for a few days.

9. What will my skin look after treatment?

Your skin will be instantly smoother and you will notice a vibrant glow after the first treatment. Hyper-pigmentation, acne scars, fine lines, and stretch-marks will lessen gradually over a series of microdermabrasion treatments.

10. When will I see results?

Your skin will have a warm, pinkish glow that may last up to 30 minutes. Your post treatment care is simple and easy and will be explained by your physician or spa professional.

11. How long will the results last?

Lasting and more significant results will occur after 4 to 6 treatments spaced over 10 days to two weeks apart, supported by a daily post treatment routine. If you’re undergoing microdermabrasion in combination with laser skin rejuvenation (photorejuvenation or chemical peels), then the results will last much longer.

12. Will I miss work or need to stay indoors?

The DermaSweep treatment can be done during a normally scheduled office visit and in most cases you can return to your normal activities. However, it is advisable to avoid direct sun exposure for at least a few days after your treatment.

13. What will I do after the treatment?

A home skincare regime will be recommended to maintain the results of your treatment.
