Relaxation of Facial Lines and Wrinkles with BOTOX® Treatments

One of the most popular forms of cosmetic enhancement uses BOTOX®. It is the leading cosmetic procedure performed today. When used properly BOTOX® can provide a subtle or noticeable refreshment to a person’s features.

BOTOX® (Botulinum A Exotoxin), when used appropriately, is one of the safest and most effective treatments for relaxation of facial lines and wrinkles. When injected into certain facial muscles it relaxes these muscles, thus smoothing out the wrinkles. This relaxation typically lasts 3-4 months. Stephanie Chamani, PA-C is a highly experienced injector for BOTOX® & JUVEDERM™. She believes in customizing each patient’s treatment to their individual facial contours resulting in a natural, more refreshed appearance. Your BOTOX® treatment will be individually designed with your needs in mind.

Description:

BOTOX® is a member of the 'wrinkle relaxer’ class of injectable facial treatments.

Wrinkle relaxers block the nerve impulses that enable the muscle contractions responsible for creating expression lines on the face. Wrinkle relaxers can smooth existing lines and may prevent expression lines from forming. With treatment over time, existing lines may disappear.

Treatment with BOTOX® can improve the appearance of existing wrinkles caused by facial expressions. Botox can also be used in a treatment called “facial shaping” to help improve asymmetry or other facial conditions that result from muscle action.

BOTOX® is the only treatment FDA approved to treat frown lines between the brows (glabella) and crow's feet lines (the outer corners of the eyes). BOTOX® is also commonly used to treat the forehead region, either side of the mid-chin (to treat a down-turned mouth), and the neck (to treat neck bands), smoker's lines in the upper lip, and the procerus – the horizontal "bunny lines" that appear when you crinkle your nose.

Candidates for BOTOX® Cosmetic:

You may be a candidate for BOTOX® treatment if you are dissatisfied with facial wrinkles associated with facial muscle action, brow heaviness, the appearance of tiredness or fatigue or emotions that are inconsistent with your intent.

Most often people try BOTOX® as a first line defense against wrinkles. BOTOX® can stop future wrinkles from forming by stopping the repeated muscle contractions that cause wrinkles to become etched in the skin. BOTOX® is often used in combination with other cosmetic procedures such as JUVEDERM™, Radiesse, Belotero and laser skin rejuvenation (ie: FotoFacial RF). Very often this eliminates the need for invasive cosmetic surgery.

BOTOX® Treatment Sessions:

A proper medical consultation is first performed by our MD/PA to determine both the patient’s needs and expectations as well as the “needs“ of the skin. The appropriate skin treatment is then recommended in a relaxed, no-pressure environment. A BOTOX® treatment session will take about 15-30 minutes. A series of injections will be strategically administered. Once you have received your injections it will take about 7-10 days for the full effects of BOTOX® to appear.

BOTOX® Post-treatment Instructions

  • Avoid rubbing the area for 4 hours after your treatment.

  • Try to contract (move) the treated muscles as much as possible for 90 minutes after your treatment. This will increase the absorption of BOTOX® into your muscles.

  • BOTOX® results appear between 7-14 days after treatment. Until we know your “perfect” dose, more BOTOX® may be needed several weeks after treatment for optimal results. We recommend waiting 2 weeks to return for a follow up so we can re-assess your results and to decide if any adjustments should be made for your perfect Botox result!
